Márton Benedek obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Economic Analysis at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2012, then continued his studies on an Applied Mathematics MSc at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics with an Operations Research specialisation. Afterwards he gained financial modeling experience validating credit risk models as an intern at the Hungarian National Bank, then started his doctoral studies in 2015 at the University of Southampton’s School of Mathematics. His research field is primarily focuses on Mathematical Programming and its applications to Game Theory. Having spent three and a half years in Southampton he became an active part of the Operations Research group, founding the OR Student Seminar series and a local SIAM Student Chapter. He returned to Hungary in January 2019 to join Péter Biró’s Mechanism Design research group, and finished his PhD in September 2019.
