Lajos Baráth graudeted at the University of Debrecen in 2005, and then he was admitted to the Interdisciplinar Social and Agricultural Sciences (now: Károly Ihrig Doctoral School in Business Economics and Organizational Studies), where in 2010 he obtained the Ph.D degree. From oktober 2008 he worked at the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Economic Theory as a junior research fellow. In September 2011, he became a young researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS). His research activities focus on agricultural efficiency and productivity calculations, comparison of agricultural development in Hungary and the New Federal States of Germany, effect of risk/risk management on farm performance.
